Dancers are made, not born. – Mikhail Baryshnikov
Dollars for Dancers was founded with the mission to promote education and the performing arts for children, specifically in dance and dance-related activities, performances, and competitions. Our hope is to fund opportunities for local dancer performers, high school age and younger.
Some of our activities include:
– Participating in dance competitions by contributing towards fees, such as event registration
– Helping dancers pay for master classes with industry choreographers
– Subsidizing theatre costs to provide dancers with a place to perform on theatrical stages
Through our efforts, dancers in New Hampshire have had the opportunity to take classes in styles that aren’t generally available in the region or with choreographers who have won Tony awards or worked with pop stars. We’ve assisted in providing dance spaces, like full auditorium theaters, giving dancers the chance to express themselves in front of an audience. Dance allows these students to have a means of expression, a method of exercise, and a community to grow in, and it is our honor to support such endeavors.
